VidaNyx Joins WePROTECT and Mission to Fight Child Sexual Abuse Online

Apr 13, 2021

VidaNyx is excited to announce our membership in WePROTECT Global Alliance, an international coalition of governments, civil organizations and technology companies dedicated to fighting child sexual exploitation and abuse online.

Currently trusted by more than 3,400 agencies across the US, VidaNyx’s digital evidence software supports child advocacy collaboration across multidisciplinary teams investingating child abuse and delivering services to child survivors of sexual assault, abuse, and neglect.  While we celebrate the impact these teams make toward justice and healing every day, we continue to seek partnerships to expand efforts in prevention.

“The statistics on child sexual abuse and exploitation are heartbreaking. We know more becomes possible when we work to support each other, share meaningful information, and share a common goal to save more children from trauma,” Sara Boyd, CEO of VidaNyx.  “Collaboration is at the heart of what we do, and it is in that spirit that we are proud and honored to become a member of the WePROTECT community as a tech industry representative.”

“WePROTECT Global Alliance is committed to driving collaboration to transform the global response to online-facilitated child sexual abuse and exploitation, and VidaNyx’s work connecting the security and integrity of child testimonies and supporting digital evidence with collaboration across agencies is a great addition. We are delighted to welcome VidaNyx as a new member of the Alliance” said Iain Drennan, Executive Director of WePROTECT Global Alliance. For information and details on the impact of child sexual exploitation read the WeProtect Global Threat Assessment or statistics from the National Children’s Alliance.  VidaNyx daily impact metrics are available at www.vidanyx.com/impact.

Turning a Tech Talk into a ‘Nology Walk

When I sat down to write this post, I had just returned home from visiting a child advocacy center after training their team on a new cloud-based video management solution. The CAC I visited conducts more than 2,000 child forensic interviews per year, and my mind was full with all the ways CACs can benefit from cloud technology.

From Darkness to Light with Tech for the Public Interest

There is no reason why people in the U.S. should have more information about their nearest coffee shop than where to go for sexual assault response. This summer I was introduced to one of the nation’s leading sexual assault reform advocates, Leah Griffin. I immediately knew her powerful story would change our nation.

Protecting Child Forensic Interview Video Evidence

Across the US, child advocacy centers are focused on providing a continuum of services to children who have suffered from incidents of child abuse and neglect. To effectively provide services without retraumatization, child forensic interviews are video recorded so they can be shared with law enforcement, prosecution, child welfare agencies, health professionals and when necessary, defense attorneys – without forcing the child to have to retell the story of their trauma unnecessarily.
